With only 12 regular players, we are small in size but not in ambition. We do our best to ensure that all members, of whatever ability, receive plenty of opportunities to play competitive chess. The club competes in two Wiltshire leagues (teams of four) plus two Somerset leagues (teams of six and four) and the Somerset Knock-Out Cup (eight a side).

This year we are running a club Knock-Out competition in addition to the successful season-long "turn up and play" competition (with handicap scoring system).

Club Captain Tony Ransom organises the Wiltshire Open (with rounds played monthly); two individual five-minute tournaments; and an annual team rapid play tournament. Additionally the Club is well represented at congresses. This May two Trowbridge players won trophies at the 25th Frome Congress.
